Bone care emphasized at the 18th International Women's Day celebration by Retos Femeninos
On March 8th, the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) joined Retos Femeninos for the 18th edition of its virtual event commemorating International Women's Day— a space dedicated to the personal and professional growth of women. This year, bone health was prioritized as a central theme, highlighting its essential role in keeping women active, independent, and maintaining their quality of life over the years.
As part of the event, Dr. Patricia Clark, a member of the IOF Board, led the talk "Bone Care in the Life Cycle." As a distinguished scientist in Mexico and a renowned expert in epidemiology and bone health, Dr. Clark addressed the importance of prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases such as osteoporosis, which affect millions of women worldwide.
“Bone health is a fundamental pillar in women's lives, as it allows us to remain active, autonomous, and free from limitations over time. We are very pleased that this topic was included and prioritized in this important event dedicated to women,” said Dr. Clark.
IOF emphasized the significance of participating in such events, where women's health is approached holistically. Mónica Caló, Regional Manager of IOF Latin America, stated:
"Events like those organized by Retos Femeninos reinforce the importance of comprehensive health care in all its dimensions: physical, mental, and social. At IOF, we were thrilled to be part of this space for learning and growth."
The event successfully brought together women from diverse backgrounds, fostering awareness and dialogue around bone health and overall well-being.
