In this topical issue of Calcified Tissue International, issue editors Lars Folkestad and Stuart H. Ralston present a collection of 14 critical reviews and original research articles that reflect the current state-of-the-art understanding of osteogenesis imperfecta (OI). The contributions cover essential aspects of OI, including its nosology, genetics, clinical presentation, and treatment strategies for both children and adults, as well as translational studies on bone mineralization in OI, and preclinical research utilizing animal models.
