The sixth edition of the Argentine Congress of Osteology, an event jointly organized by the Argentine Society of Osteoporosis (SAO) and the Argentine Association of Osteology and Mineral Metabolism (AAOMM), was held from August 16 to 18 in the city of Córdoba, Argentina.
The congress, as in previous years, was scientifically endorsed by the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF). Throughout the three days, an enriching scientific programme was presented, including keynote lectures, symposia, and free presentations. IOF was present at this joint SAO-AAOMM congress through two specific activities, an international symposium and the first Capture the Fracture® FLS Café in Argentina.
The international symposium "What should the specialist know about diet and exercise patterns in people with osteoporosis fractures?", moderated by Dr. Osvaldo Messina, with the participation of Prof. René Rizzoli (IOF Global Board member) and Dr. Andrea Olascoaga (FLS Mexico mentor). The symposium was structured in a hybrid format that combined pre-recorded presentations with live interactive sessions, allowing the active participation of the attendees.
Within the framework of the congress, the Argentine Association of Osteology and Mineral Metabolism (AAOMM) also celebrated an important milestone: its 40th anniversary as an entity. To commemorate this achievement, a special toast was held, honouring all those who have held the position of president at the congress. We warmly congratulate AAOMM on their many achievements!
